The Challenge

As the platform rapidly scaled its user base and product offerings, its data privacy and governance systems failed to keep pace. This created significant regulatory and security risks, as data was being collected without proper structure, visibility or compliance with the Nigerian Data Protection Act (NDPA. Teams operated without a centralised data map, consent mechanisms were non-compliant, and third-party integrations lacked proper safeguards—resulting in a high level of unseen risk.
