Overview

Sankalp Forum is an initiative of Intellecap that shapes the global conversation on inclusive development, working closely with entrepreneurs, impact investors, and inclusive businesses across emerging markets. One of its flagship events, Sankalp Summit Africa, brings together the continent's most promising startups with the investors who can fund their growth.

For the founders on stage, the summit is more than a networking event it's a pitch competition where a single presentation can open the door to serious investment. Sankalp brought in Spurt! as an ecosystem partner to make sure founders were ready to make the most of that moment.

Challenge

Pitching to a room of impact investors is a different skill from running a business. Many of the founders preparing for Sankalp Summit Africa were strong operators but had limited experience packaging their story into a clear, compelling, investor-ready pitch.

Sankalp needed a partner who could quickly and practically close that gap reviewing decks, sharpening messaging, and building founders' confidence before they stepped onto a high-stakes stage.

The solution

Spurt! ran a structured, two-part pitch-readiness programme:

1. Pitch deck review. Sankalp shared each founder's pitch deck with the Spurt! team, who reviewed them in detail and returned clear, actionable feedback — covering everything from narrative structure to how clearly the business model and ask came through.

2. Mock pitch sessions. Founders booked 15-minute slots through a shared scheduling link and delivered their pitch in a simulated investor setting. Each session ended with real-time feedback on delivery, pacing, and overall pitch effectiveness — the kind of coaching founders don't usually get before the pressure of a live pitch.

The impact

14 startup founders received detailed deck reviews and personalised feedback ahead of Sankalp Summit Africa. Each founder also completed a 15 Minutes live mock pitch session which gave them a dry run and real coaching before facing investors. Founders arrived at the summit with sharper narratives, tighter decks, and greater confidence in their delivery.
