Overview
We were engaged by an alternative energy development company to articulate the business case (market sizing), business plan (operating model and financial forecast) for the establishment of a series of solar and waste-to-energy installations across Abuja, Nigeria.
Challenge
The client needed to determine the profitability and feasibility of establishing energy-from-waste (EfW) plants in Abuja, Nigeria, including market sizing, operating models, and financial forecasts.
The solution
Our output defined the key focus areas for the business, identifying which localities in Abuja, which segment of the market and which aspects of the model would generate the most revenues.
The impact
Spurt! deliverables included the equipment lists, costing for land purchases and rentals, a preliminary skilled personnel cost map and best practices guidelines from benchmark operators across sub-Saharan Africa.
The resulting proposal carefully outlined, enumerated and costed the factors contributing to capital expenditure, operating expenditure which would be necessary for the company to adjust and solve for in order to raise sufficient capital.
