Venture Capital and Women Entrepreneurs Bridging the Funding Gap

In 2024, the percentage of venture capital funding allocated to women-led startups in Africa was notably low. Female founders raised only $48 million, which accounted for a mere 2% of the total $2.2 billion invested in African startups.  Bridging the gender gap in entrepreneurship could inject $2.5 trillion to $5 trillion into the global economy and see the global GDP witness a rise of 3% to 6%.
