In 2022, the unemployment rate in Eastern Africa was higher among women, at 5.4%, than among men, at 4%. Furthermore, the projection for 2023 showed a similar trend. Male unemployment would be 3.9%, compared to a female rate of 5.2%. The overall unemployment rate will decline in 2023 from the previous year.
